„But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit,

if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.

Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.“

“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God;

for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things

of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit,

the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death,

but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

“That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us

who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

“For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh,

God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh,

on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh.”

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,

who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free

from the law of sin and death.”

“O wretched man that I am!

Who will deliver me from this body of death?

Thanks be to God (for doing so) through Jesus Christ our Lord! 

So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind,

but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.”

“For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind,

and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”

“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells;

for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.

For the good that I will to do, I do not do;

but the evil I will not to do, that I practise.

Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it,

but sin that dwells in me.”

“Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

Their feet are swift to shed blood;destruction and misery are in their ways;

and the way of peace they have not known.

There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law,

that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”

“Now he who keeps His commandments abides in God, and God in him.

And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.”

“And whatever we ask we receive from Him,

because we keep His commandments

and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

“For you were called to freedom, brothers.

Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh,

but through love serve one another.

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word:

‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”

“Was not Abraham our father justified by works

when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith

was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?”

“For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh;

and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things

that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”

«If we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord,

that we may not be condemned with the world.»
