The Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate – the voice of one crying in the wilderness – emphasizes the following: The excommunication pronounced by the apostate Vatican against the six bishops is invalid and ineffective. By excommunicating the bishops for their loyalty to Christ, the Vatican has excommunicated Christ Himself. In fact, Fernández and Leo Prevost have excommunicated themselves from the Church of Christ once again. Due to their impenitence and obstinacy, they have committed yet another sin against the Holy Spirit.

The renewal of the Church begins with the renewal of the spiritual life of the family. This renewal is deeply connected with keeping the third commandment: “Six days you shall labour… but the seventh day is a day of rest, a holy day.” (Deu 5:12-15) God reminds us to stop from our everyday work on the seventh day. Why? Not only so that we can rest, but also so that we remember how He freed His people from slavery in Egypt. Today, many people live as slaves of a modern Egypt – the system of this world. It traps them in many kinds of addictions and distractions. But most of all, it keeps them from pausing, from stepping out of the slavery of their own ego and the spirit and system of this world.

Dear Bishops of the individual African countries,
it is the season of Advent, the season of repentance. We need to prepare the way of the Lord, the way to spiritual awakening. Your first duty as a bishop is to protect the orthodox doctrine and commandments of God. This is also the primary task of Peter’s successor. But what is the reality today? The one who occupies the papal chair is not the rightful pope. Because of his manifest heresies, he has excommunicated himself many times over from the Catholic Church and therefore cannot be its head. This is the Catholic doctrine, which was also expressed by the Church Fathers St Cyprian, St Jerome, St Augustine, St Athanasius, and the Doctors of the Church – St Francis de Sales, St Alphonsus of Liguori, and St Cardinal Robert Bellarmine. Also, the dogmatic bull Cum ex apostolatus officio clearly states that a pope who has committed heresy is not a valid pope. St Bellarmine expressed this truth in the words: “The Pope who is manifestly a heretic ceases by himself to be Pope and head, in the same way as he ceases to be a Christian and a member of the body of the Church.”
