Prayer of unity and power
1) Perfect contrition (5 minutes)
(position – kneeling)
(One says:) “Ephphatha, be opened! I am self-willed. I am a hedonist. I am a critic.”
“A self-willed person does not seek the will of God in serious situations, does not rely on God, breaks the laws of God.” I realize a particular case of self-will and silently repeat: “I am self-willed, I am self-willed…” (1.5 minutes)
(Then one says:) “Hedonism may be physical – indulgence in eating, drinking, impure feelings, alcohol and drug abuse. Mental hedonism – addiction to television, rock music, internet, human praise…” I realize at least one concrete manifestation of my hedonism and silently repeat: “I am a hedonist, I am a hedonist…” (1.5 minutes)
(One says:) “I realize a particular situation when I rebelled against God or criticized my neighbours in thoughts or by words, when I regarded myself higher than all.” I repeat quietly: “I am a critic, I am a critic…” (1.5 minutes)
(At the end one says): “The wages of sin is death. Jesus died for me and my sins.”
In spirit I look at the cross of Christ, at His five wounds, and I repeat 5 times “Yehoshua, Yehoshua, Yehoshua, khuonayny” (Jesus, have mercy on me). I hold my arms outstretched in the shape of the cross.
2) Love God
(position – standing, hands are lifted up)
(One says:) “Shema Israel, love God! Jesus, my God, I love You with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my strength. Now I lose my soul for Your sake and the Gospel’s.”
How to love God? How to lose my soul for Christ’s sake? Image: I stand by the cross near the mother of Jesus.
I utter slowly and silently the holy name of God “Yehoshua”. I breathe out the lengthened vowel “aaa…” 3× and I give myself wholly to Jesus crucified. I utter this with all my heart (3×), with all my soul (3×) and with all my strength (3×). Finally, I look in the face of Jesus and say quietly: “Maranatha, come, Lord Jesus” (this rhythm is repeated for 4 minutes).
(In the end one says:) “Now God performs transplantation of a new heart through the words of Jesus: ‘Behold, your mother!’ Receive her like the disciple by the cross.” Repeat the name “Yehoshua” and when you breathe out “aaa…”, abide in the thought: “I receive Your mother.” (this rhythm is repeated for 1 minute)
3) The mystery of Baptism
3a) “Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?” (Rom 6:3)
(position – kneeling, hands are lifted up)
I realize that I am in Jesus crucified. I repeat slowly “Yeee… – hooo…” with vowels lengthened, and I realize that Jesus, dying, sacrifices His excruciating pain to the Father for my sake. When I pronounce long “shuuu…”, the spirit of Christ leaves the tortured body – this is the moment of death. When I pronounce “aaa…”, the spirit of Christ together with my spirit enters into the Father’s arms. I experience spiritually the death of Christ and my death. (I repeat it in a rhythm for 2 minutes)
3b) “We were buried with Him in baptism, in which we also were raised with Him through faith in the power of God.” (Col 2:12)
(position – standing, hands are lifted up)
I experience by faith in the almighty power of God that in baptism I was raised with Christ. In my innermost being – in the sphere of the spirit – I repeat slowly: “Ye-ho-shu”, then I breathe out, pronouncing 3× “aaa…aaa…aaa” and I perceive the risen Christ as the light. I repeat it all two more times, then do the same in the sphere of the soul and then in the sphere of the body (repeated in a rhythm for 1.5 minutes).
3c) “Make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Mt 28:19)
Say quietly: “I was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” Saying these words, make the sign of the cross. The holy name of the Triune God is “Ye-ho-shu-a”. Breathe out “Yeee…” and realize the presence of the Father in the light, then breathe out “hooo…” and realize the presence of the Son, then breathe out “shuuu…” and realize the presence of the Holy Spirit. Then breathe out, pronouncing 3× “aaa…” and realize that you are in the light, in God. (rhythm is repeated for 1.5 minutes)
4) Prayer of power (Mk 11:23)
(position – standing, hands are lifted up)
4a) We repeat with faith the holy name of God Yehoshua. (One says): “In the name of Jesus Christ, I say to you, mountain of demons (over a particular city or region), be lifted up!”
When I pronounce “Ye-ho-shu”, I turn the eyes of faith to my innermost being and realize that the Triune God – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – is in me. Then I breathe out, pronouncing 3× “aaa…”. Breathing out the first time, I perceive that God’s power comes out through my breath. Breathing out the second time, I perceive that God’s power comes out through my hands. Breathing out the third time, I perceive that the mountain is lifted up. (I repeat it in a rhythm for 4 minutes)
4b) (One says): “I say to you, mountain, be thrown into the sea of fire.” When I pronounce “Ye-ho-shu-a”, all is the same as in 4a, but when I breathe out “aaa…” for the third time, I realize that the power of God is doing it and has done it. Amen. (rhythm is repeated for 1 minute)
5) Song of thanksgiving (5 minutes)
(position – standing, we can clap our hands or accompany the song by a musical instrument)
Now I give thanks that the mountain of demons was lifted up and thrown into the fiery sea by the power of God. We sing a solemn tune without words: “La, la, la, la” – e.g. the tune of the song “Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!” At the end we sing three times triumphantly: “Shine, Jesus, Shine”.
