Reflection on Jn 14:15-16

If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.

For the period of the next two weeks, enter into God’s presence, into the column of light, and stand by Christ’s cross beside the Blessed Virgin. There accept the last will of Christ. Repeat the words: “Jesus said to the disciple and now says to me and to the inhabitants of the (Lvov) region: ‘Behold, your mother.” Then pray with your spirit and mind for about a minute, and say in the end: I receive Your mother on both my and their behalf. Pray again for the particular regions of Ukraine, standing in the column of light, and make an act of faith – i.e. accept Christ’s testament – on your behalf and on behalf of the inhabitants of the particular region. Bear in mind that Patriarch Elijah consecrated Ukraine, Russia and Belarus to the Mother of God in the Kiev-Pecherskaya Laura on 8 January 2013, and that three representatives renewed the baptism of these three nations in the Dnieper in the jubilee year. To receive the Mother of God means to fulfil Christ’s commandment: “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (Jn 14:15) The reception of the Mother of God by the Apostle John in the hour of Christ’s death is a model for us too. Jesus came to this world through Mary and the Holy Spirit. Through Mary and the Holy Spirit He will also come into our souls and make His dwelling with us (see Jn 14:23).
