Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways be mindful of Him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Pro 3:5-6)

We have a variety of vices and self-pities which hold us in bondage. We can speak of spiritual resurrection if we let ourselves be healed by God. The precondition is to stand in the truth and to be willing to see and admit our faults. We should not take offence. Let us say: “Yes, it is true. This is my weakness.” We should not fall into depression but say to ourselves: “I have to fight against it. Yes, I will fail again and again but I will ask God for light and strength. I will give Him all problems I have: Lord, I am weak in this thing, I fall time and again, I am overcome by this bondage, I am a slave. I don’t want it but I can’t help it. I rely on You with all my heart.” And then, as God’s Word says, the Lord will make straight your paths. We humans always walk crooked paths, tossed here and there by the evil one. We must move ahead, and the Lord will make straight our paths. It is really so, we only need to be mindful of Him in all our ways. If we are not mindful of Him and do not rely on Him, we will not see His intervention. But if we are mindful of God and turn to Him, God will begin to work in our lives. He will work miracles, heal us, touch our hearts. Then we can write books of testimonies. We just need to stop for a while and in a particular situation to surrender ourselves to God with faith or to ask the Holy Spirit for the light. Or just to stop and call on the Lord’s name. But how hard a fight it is against unbelief, perplexity, doubts, logical arguments, our reason deceives us. Well, but now think logically: Do I believe that God is almighty? Does God work miracles? Has He worked miracles in my life? Can He work miracles now? And does God want me now to believe and not doubt? If so, I need to confess: I do believe, Lord! I trust in You.

So what should you do? Trust in the Lord with all your heart and not rely on your own understanding. Be mindful of Him in all your ways. And what did God promise you if you fulfil these three conditions? He will make straight your paths.
