The UN promotes worldwide legalization of drugs

The UN Global Commission on Drug Policy (Kofi Annan, Javier Solana …) in its final report suggestively forces legalization of marijuana and other drugs upon all countries of the world.

In fact, this brings along a modern form of slavery because drugs turn people into wrecks that are a burden for the society. Narcotics, the so-called white death, are associated with crime, homosexuality, deadly AIDS and suicides.

The UN experts have come to an absurd conclusion – they say that legalization of drugs will reduce crime, improve health of people and will contribute to economic development. We wonder under the influence of which drug the UN experts arrived at this conclusion. These “warriors against drugs” demagogically claim: “Since drug addiction and drug trafficking entails crime, it is necessary to legalize them. Thereby the price of narcotics will drop and their users will not have to “make” money for a dose in a criminal manner – i.e. theft, robbery, prostitution and in some cases even murders. Drug use will then be done under medical supervision, which will also reduce mortality.” All these fairy tales are supported by persuasive statistics and charts. Nevertheless, there is one big BUT: Will the legalization of drugs lead to the reduction of the number of drug addicts? NO! Their number will grow exponentially! It is equally absurd theory as if the UN said: “The problem of alcoholism will be solved by reducing prices of alcohol in all shops to a minimum.” Similarly, when there will be free access to drugs and at each corner streetworkers of “tertiary prevention” will thoughtfully hand out needles and all necessary “accessories” … Why not try it then? Just once… And then again and again and why not try it on and on – it’s cheap and it’s fine… But how long? Maybe drug addicts will no longer commit crimes for financial reasons but they will commit them under the influence of drugs and hallucinations.

Dependence on drugs or slavery to any other addiction is primarily a spiritual matter. Such a person needs spiritual deliverance which is possible only in Jesus Christ. Jesus gives us his word of truth which leads to true freedom and preventively protects against slavery to whatever addiction. However, the United Nations today pursue the opposite goal – to get people into slavery through drug abuse, homosexuality, paedophilia, sexual anti-education of children, juvenile justice, gender schizophrenia and other moral perversions. All this will cause both spiritual and physical genocide of humanity and then it will cast entire nations into the abyss of hell. The UN should realize that the ideal is not to make people into pigs and mediums of demons but through promotion of moral values to make decent personalities of them who will bring in true peace, selfless love and other true values.

Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate hereby publicly appeals to the UN leadership to stop deceiving the nations and cunningly promoting the means to the suicide of mankind which are embodied in the so-called conventions, international treaties, resolutions and declarations. In fact, these all are shameful perversions and, worst of all, crimes against humanity. In no case can drugs be legalized; on the contrary, through education, effective prevention and effective mechanisms they must be reduced to the minimum.
