Dear Mr President,
the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate turns to You in the last hours before the scheduled unlawful gay pride parade in Kiev. We ask You repeatedly to make a heroic step: Do not permit gay pride parade, the purpose of which is to open Ukraine to moral, spiritual and physical genocide!
Gay pride parade was sanctioned by the head of the Kiev City State Administration – illegally and contrary to the Constitution. Do perhaps the Constitution and Ukrainian laws not apply to him too? He committed a crime against Ukraine. And it is a crime not to punish this planned felony and to let it be perpetrated. Make this step to salvation. Stop planned demoralization process at the very last moment!
Our faithful travelled from Lvov to Kiev on six successive Thursdays and quietly with faith marched around St. Michael’s and St. Sophia’s Square. On the seventh Thursday, yesterday, they encircled the squares seven times and the seventh time, according to the Jericho model (Joshua 6), sang the triumphal hymn celebrating the spiritual fall of Jericho.
