Your Beatitude,
the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate addresses You in the matter of the planned 4th Congress of World Religions which is to be held in Kazakhstan on 29-31 May 2012. We are obliged to inform and warn You against this event having for its aim the destruction of the orthodox – saving faith. The originator of these events in Kazakhstan is the apostate Catholic hierarchy. Apparently they have manipulated You to take active part in these events. Behind the whole event is the spirit of Assisi – the spirit of antichrist – which presents Christianity and paganism as equal ways to salvation, and that is the supreme heresy and a denial of the Gospel. Let us therefore point out that God’s Word pronounces an anathema in such case: “If anyone preaches any other gospel, let him be accursed.” (Gal 1:8-9) The Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate hereby informs and warns You to dissociate Yourself from this event. If not, the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate will be obliged to declare an anathema – i.e. a curse – against You before all Christians. We believe that You have at heart the salvation of Your soul as well as the salvation of the souls entrusted to You.
