Letter to the President and Government of the Slovak Republic
Lvov (Ukraine), 6 January 2012
President of the Slovak Republic
Government of the Slovak Republic
Dear Mr President,
dear representatives of the Slovak government,
You are certainly acquainted with the fact that on 1 January 2012 a new Hungarian constitution came into force which emphasizes three basic pillars:
1) faith in God
2) natural family – man, woman and children,
3) protection of a child’s life from conception.
These essential things ought to be guaranteed in every civilized society. State system without the faith in God kills the conscience of the individual and destroys the moral values of the nation. It promotes antilaws and produces criminals which results in the nation’s self-destruction.
Legalization of homosexuality and of the killing of children before their birth practically leads to extinction of the nation.
One should appreciate the courage of the Hungarian government in connection with the fact that the representative offices of the International Monetary Fund, the European Commission and the European Central Bank ceased their work in Hungary.
In Slovakia, 80% of the population profess Christianity. The vast majority are Catholics. Also, most politicians consider themselves Christians.
Last year, a gay-pride parade was scheduled for 4 June in Bratislava. Our Bishops’ Synod of UOGCC and Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate wrote several alarming letters to the Slovak government and the Catholic hierarchy:
16 March 2011 An Appeal to ex-Bishops in Slovakia + Attachment
16 March 2011 An Appeal to the Slovak nation: Stop the dictatorship of homoideology! + Attachment
10 May 2011 To the Slovak Government – against gender-gay ideology
11 May 2011 SOS to the Slovak Catholics – it also contained a call for a peaceful demonstration. Quotation: “If the bishops of Slovakia point to the pernicious consequences of homosexuality, including the spread of AIDS and the danger of eternal damnation, the demonstration in Bratislava on Saturday 28 May 2011 will surely be attended by a quarter of a million peaceful demonstrators at the least.”
The 2010 demonstration against a gay-pride parade was attended by about 200 Catholics. A week later, during the parade, a radical youth group raised a protest against gays, which resulted in a fight. The gay-pride parade was no success but a failure. The worst thing was that the Catholic hierarchy had not warned the believers in any way against the parade boosting perversion. The official spokesman for the Conference of the Bishops of Slovakia (KBS) openly condemned in the mass media the Catholic believers who stood in defence of the family and Christian moral values.
On 28 May 2011, the peaceful demonstration against the gay-pride parade was only attended by about 40 faithful Catholics. The Catholic hierarchy had committed a grave crime. It paralyzed the whole Christian nation of Slovakia. This hierarchy is entirely to blame for neglecting to mobilize the people while there was still time to effectively stop the amoral epidemic.
We have to state with pain that this hierarchy is in unity with heresies which deny the essence of Christianity. It concerns questioning the inspiration of the Holy Scripture, the Divinity of Christ, His miracles and His resurrection. Heresies against the first commandment of the Decalogue put the worship of pagan demons on an equal footing with the worship of the one holy God. This is the so-called spirit of Assisi – the spirit of antichrist.
1 May 2011 witnessed the most tragic event in the history of the whole Church. By the gesture of beatification of John Paul II, Benedict XVI brought down God’s anathema upon himself and upon all who are in unity with him. The priests who have not dissociated themselves from the spirit of Assisi – the spirit of antichrist – now celebrate Holy Mass and administer the sacraments invalidly. It is a tragedy which most Catholics are unable to accept. However, this cannot alter the fact of God’s punishment. The only solution is true repentance – that means, separation from the spirit of heresy and the spirit of Assisi. Scandals connected with paedophilia among the clergy in America, Ireland and Australia are merely an outward sign of the inner betrayal of Christ and the Gospel.
Dear Mr President, dear representatives of the Slovak government, do not pay heed to the crisis within the Catholic Church but rather follow the example of the Hungarian politicians who established a new constitution. The purpose of the constitution is the protection of the nation. Establish a new constitution on the same principles even in Slovakia!
Bestowing a blessing on You,
+ Elijah
Patriarch of the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate
