The situation today is difficult. What can we do?
The devil deceives us and we believe lies. The spirit of antichrist rules and changes the thinking to such extent that people no longer distinguish good from evil. We literally breathe this atmosphere from television, music or contact with people who have the spirit of the world. Therefore we need to draw strength from prayer, from a living fellowship, from God’s Word. The devil forms public opinion which is not based on the truth but rather on a lie, and puts pressure on each of us. We need to be wise and must not allow mass media to manipulate us. Today mass media are in the hands of those who promote films leading to moral decay. Even the news manipulates people. Today the official church newspapers and magazines spread the spirit of the world. They do not lead Christians to realize the essential things nor encourage them to follow Jesus in earnest. They offer all kinds of irrelevant information and completely change the way of thinking in an inconspicuous way and thus destroy the true Christian life and lead away from the living Christ. How hard it is today to persevere without a sound fellowship. Many people put energy into sports, politics… However, we should learn how to live as Christians in the present situation, how to save our souls, how to protect our families. Today schools instil immorality and homosexuality in children. The Church is silent. We live in such times. The Church hierarchy is deceived and blind. Christ is crucified in His Church. We can see the state of the Church. The Church is bleeding. It is a difficult situation. What can we do? We must be aware of this reality, know that we are powerless and work out our own salvation with diligence, grieve about this situation and give it to Jesus in prayer again and again. We need a living fellowship, and we also need to carry out mission. However, we first need to be rooted in Jesus ourselves and only then can we give Him to others. We need to seek what God’s will is. It is important to have small groups, a fellowship, and to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. If we fight against pride, against lies in us, against original sin, i.e. our old self, we will be able to show others too how to follow Jesus – we will show them the way which is straight and safe and leads to salvation.
