Everyone prophesies on the level one stands on

We really need the Word of God. The mere letter of Scripture is not enough. We need the word of prophecy which God gives for a particular situation. Therefore, God’s Word says: “Desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” So each of us has to desire it. And everyone then prophesies on the level one stands on – that means, depending on one’s own experience of God. If you stand at the gate of the temple of God, you prophesy from that place. If you stand in the sanctuary, you prophesy from the sanctuary. If you stand in the Holy of Holies, then your word has the greatest power.

There is a difference between the one who has the gift of prophecy and the one who is a prophet. Even a small child can speak a word of prophecy, but to be a prophet means to defend God’s Word and to be ready even to lay down one’s life for the sake of it. The nation needs prophets; if there are none, the nation dies. Prophets are brave people who fight for the Truth, which is Jesus, and are ready even to sacrifice their life for the sake of it like the Apostle Paul. Then our life and our words will be in harmony with God’s Word, i.e. we will live the Word. Then we will not have to cast out demons, they will run away from us automatically because Jesus will reign in us. And the kingdom of darkness which rules through the old self – through our self-will, bondage of sin, through our believing the devil rather than God – will no longer be in us, or it will be very weak. So our task is gradual purification or, in other words: the following of Christ – going after Jesus.
