In the Lenten period, bear in mind the basic realities: You shall die. You shall stand before the judgment seat of God. Your eternity will either be happy or unhappy. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, suffered and died for your sake to give you eternal happiness after death. Your impurity made Him suffer bloody scourging, your pride made Him suffer humiliation when He was crowned with thorns and covered with spittle. Your devious sinful paths made Him walk the way of the cross. The death of Christ conquered sin and the devil and opened for you the way to eternal glory. Jesus says to you today: “Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.” Where to? To Golgotha. Narrow is the path (Mt 7:14) that leads through the death of Christ to eternal life.

In the Lenten period, make a resolution to deny yourself at least once a day. Self-pity, envy, impure thoughts, anger… Say: “Jesus, I deny myself, I deny myself… I break with the spirit of lies and vanity.”

On the Sunday before the beginning of Lent in the Eastern Church, we shall hear the passage from the Gospel of Matthew: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Mt 6:14-21)

The devil is a spirit; he has no body. He can directly affect our thinking. Imagine a problem is being discussed and suddenly someone has an “amazing” inspiration that influences his thinking at that moment. But he finds that in order to obtain the desired goal, he must commit a serious lie, deception, evil… Such inspiration can be directly from the spirit of lies, or it can come from the source of evil in us, which the Bible calls the old self, (hereditary) sin. This source affects our reason and our will. It is necessary to know that the source of evil in man, together with the spirit of lies, is the main cause of all evil on this Earth, all crimes and wars, hatred, murder, perversion, etc.

The Epiclesis in Eastern and Western Liturgy

In the Eastern liturgy, Christ’s words of Institution and the Epiclesis, though with a time interval between them, form one spiritual whole. Their culmination is the Consecration (Transubstantiation).

In the Western liturgy, the Epiclesis – the invocation of the Holy Spirit, whether implicit or verbal, precedes Christ’s words of Institution. When the priest utters the words of Christ, the Holy Spirit makes present Christ’s Calvary sacrifice on the altar in a way surpassing understanding. Here also, two conditions apply to the Consecration: the words of Institution and the Epiclesis – the working of the Holy Spirit, without whom the sacrament would be invalid.

Die Heilige Messe beginnt mit dem Akt der Buße: „Wir bekennen, dass wir gesündigt haben…“ Es folgt eine kurze Pause in der Stille. Um ihre Sünden wirklich anzuerkennen, wäre es für Priester und Gläubige hilfreich, zumindest manchmal auf die folgende Prüfung zurückzugreifen: „Um uns nicht selbst zu täuschen, sollten wir erkennen, dass in jedem von uns eine Quelle des Bösen steckt. Lassen Sie uns nun erkennen, wie es sich manifestiert. Erstens: Ich bin ein Egoist; Ich durchsetze nicht den Willen Gottes, sondern meinen eigenen. Zweitens: Ich bin ein Hedonist; Ich suche Vergnügen, sogar sündiges Vergnügen. Drittens: Ich bin ein Kritiker; Ich verurteile andere, aber ich weigere mich, meine Schuld zu sehen oder zuzugeben.“ (Pause zur Stille)

The Holy Mass starts with the Penitential Act: “Let us acknowledge our sins…” A brief pause for silence follows. To really acknowledge their sins, it would be useful for priests and believers alike to use, at least sometimes, the following examen: “In order not to deceive ourselves, let us realize that there is a source of evil in each of us. Let us now acknowledge how it manifests itself. Firstly: I am an egoist; I push my own will over God’s. Secondly: I am a hedonist; I seek pleasure, even sinful pleasure. Thirdly: I am a critic; I condemn others, but I refuse to see or admit my fault.” (Pause for silence)

Der Novus Ordo markierte einen radikalen Eingriff nicht nur in die Liturgie, sondern auch in den liturgischen Raum. Dies führte zu einem Wandel des Geistes. Die Horizontale begann, auf Kosten der Vertikalen (die Beziehung zu Gott), hervorgehoben zu werden. Das Mittel zu dieser geistigen Veränderung war die Wendung des Altars zusammen mit dem Priester zum Volk hin.

Das biblische Modell des Tempels von Jerusalem hatte drei separate Abschnitte:

1) der Ort, an dem die Gegenwart Gottes wohnte –das Allerheiligste

2) der Ort, an dem der Priester Gott das tägliche Opfer darbrachte

3) der Ort für das Volk.

ad 1) In Analogie zum katholischen Tempel ist hier der Ort, an dem die Gegenwart Gottes wohnt, das Tabernakel (das Allerheiligste). Im orientalischen Ritus wird es durch eine Ikonostase getrennt.

The Novus Ordo marked a radical interference with both the liturgy and liturgical space. This caused a change of spirit. The horizontal began to be emphasized at the expense of the vertical – the relationship with God. A means of achieving this spiritual change was the turning of both the altar and the priest to “face the people”.

The biblical model of the Jerusalem Temple had three separate sections:

1) the place where the presence of God dwelled – the Holy of Holies

2) the place where the priest offered the daily sacrifice to God

3) the place for the people

ad 1) In analogy with the Catholic temple, here the place where the presence of God dwells is the tabernacle (the Holy of Holies). In the Eastern rite, it is separated by an iconostasis.

ad 2) During the liturgy, the priest and the people should face the tabernacle. There should be a large crucifix, preferably a full-size one, placed between the tabernacle and the altar, or attached to the altar.

On the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, patron saint of Slovakia, the National Shrine in Šaštín is about to be desecrated by a gesture of unity with a public heretic and apostate Francis Bergoglio. This will have an impact on the entire Slovak nation! In the past, Šaštín was a source of God’s blessing, which is associated with repentance and true faith. Bergoglio brings a false faith, legalization of immorality, and curse.

It can be expected that this main promoter of sodomy will warmly hug and kiss the Slovak and other bishops present, as is his custom. This apostate shall then celebrate Holy Mass outside the Basilica. His liturgy is invalid because of his betrayal of Christ and the heresies he promotes. Bishops, priests and believers need to realize that attending the invalid Bergoglio’s Mass is a public gesture of recognizing Bergoglio as a valid Pope, even though he is not! Participants automatically embrace his blasphemous and apostate agenda, which leads to eternal destruction. Bergoglio publicly promotes idolatry, sodomy and genocidal vaccination, which is turning into chipization. Those who are in union with him are thus in union with his antichristic agenda, and bring down a curse on themselves, on the Church in Slovakia and on the whole nation. They will be accountable for this before God’s judgment seat.

Christ’s death on the cross and His glorious resurrection is an unbreakable force in the fight against evil – original sin – which is in man as well as against the spirit of lies in the world. Only Jesus gives a clear perspective and answer to the meaning of life and the meaning of suffering. He shows that true love involves sacrifice. He Himself is the Son of God, who became man out of love for us. He took on Himself all the evil to deliver us from it. After our short life, which is filled with trials, often disappointment, suffering, disease, betrayal, abandonment, and ends with physical death, Jesus gives us eternal happiness. The assurance given by true Christianity, which proclaims the teachings of Christ and gives us the Spirit of Christ, is the greatest treasure one can have in this short journey of life.
