BCP: German synodal path – legalization of sodomy – a precedent for the path to hell

On 3-5 February 2022, a synodal assembly was held in Frankfurt am Main which voted 174 to 30 in favour of blessing same-sex couples. The Synodal Assembly was approved by the President of the Bishops’ Conference, Bishop Bätzing.

What is the attitude of the Holy Scriptures to sodomy?

Sodomy has two roots: unbelief and idolatry. “Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God.” (Rom 1:21) This is the fruit of the historical-critical method in theology, which is based on an atheistic philosophy that denies the supernatural. As far as idolatry is concerned, it was Vatican II that established a regard for pagan religions and their demons in the Nostra Aetate declaration. John Paul II embodied this syncretism with paganism in Assisi in 1986.

The Scripture testifies: “They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for mortal man and four-footed animals and reptiles.” (Rom 1:23) “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.” (Rom 1:26-28)

The Catechism of the Catholic Church, Article 1865, states: “Sin creates a proclivity to sin; it engenders vice by repetition of the same acts. This results in perverse inclinations which cloud conscience and corrupt the concrete judgment of good and evil.”

Article 1867 of the Catechism says: “The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are ‘sins that cry to heaven’. These include the sin of the Sodomites.”

Scripture quotation: “The Lord said, ‘The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous… If what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached Me, I will deal with them thoroughly.’” (Gen 18:20f) “The two angels arrived at Sodom… All the men of Sodom – both young and old – surrounded the house. They called to Lot, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them…’ Then the two angels struck the men who were at the door of the house with blindness. They said to Lot, ‘We are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great that He has sent us to destroy it…’

By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. Then the Lord rained down burning sulphur on Sodom and Gomorrah – from the Lord out of the heavens. Thus He overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities – and also the vegetation in the land. Early the next morning Abraham looked down towards Sodom and Gomorrah, towards all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace. So God destroyed the cities of the plain.” (Gen 19)

It should also be remembered that because of the sin of sodomy, almost the entire Benjamin tribe was annihilated (cf. Judges 19-20).

What punishment falls on sodomites who stubbornly refuse to repent?

The same as on hardened and unrepentant sinners, namely: “they will not inherit the kingdom of God” (1Cor 6:9)

Does God warn specifically against sodomy in His Word?

He does. I quote: “Sodom and Gomorrah gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.” (Jud 1:7) And the Scriptures also warn against earthly fire like the one that fell on Sodom: “He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly.” (2Pe 2:6)

Jesus Christ speaks of moral purity in the Sermon on the Mount: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Mt 5:8) “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” (Mt 5:27-29)

As for the obsession with unclean spirits, they also include the demons of sodomy that disrupt the mind and cloud conscience. Jesus cast these demons out of the possessed people by the power of God. In regard to the demon-possessed, Jesus did not recommend, as the Catechism does in Article 2358-59, “the support of disinterested friendship”, nor did He avoid “every sign of (so-called) unjust discrimination”, as the Catechism advises. This misleading formulation was smuggled into the Catechism by the then hidden promoter of sodomy, the Dominican Schönborn, now a cardinal. If the current Catechism is to benefit the Church, this formulation must be removed.

What was the attitude of the Church and secular laws to sodomy in the recent past?

When Pope St Pius V learned that this spiritual epidemic had spread among the priesthood, how did he react? He ordered that any clergyman, be it a priest, bishop or cardinal, who would be convicted of this crime, should be degraded from all ecclesiastical office and handed over to secular justice. At that time, according to secular law, the act of sodomy was punishable by death. This was a favour to the criminal, because he had the opportunity to prepare for a repentant death and save his soul.

Contrite submission to the penalty was part of a penance that protected against the danger of pernicious recidivism. In addition, the death penalty was a warning for everyone to realize that this was a precedent and not to commit this crime. Punishment was also a motivation for those who were prone to sodomy to show true repentance in order to break with this unclean demon and heal the soul. After defining the punishment, Pope St Pius added: “Otherwise this pernicious vice will not be eradicated.” It was true mercy to the criminals and protection for potential victims.

In contrast, German pseudo-Catholics and blind bishops are abusing the authority of the Church to approve even the whole sinful lifestyle. They have decided to give the Church’s blessing to the sinful union of sodomites! But this so-called blessing is a broad path to hell, whereto they doom themselves.

By doing so, the German synodal path changes paradigms with the blessing of pseudo Pope Bergoglio and sets a suicidal precedent for mass apostasy from Christ and His Gospel. At the same time, it rejects the basic requirement for salvation, which is repentance. But without it, no one will be saved! These people – sodomites – are even promoted to key positions in the Church. The Catholic Church is thus internally converted to a New Age satanic anti-Church. This is the goal of the so-called synodal process.

The Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate, as the voice of one crying in the wilderness, hereby makes it public that all those who approved a crime against God and His law at the Synodal Assembly on 5 February 2022 thus expelled themselves from the Church of Christ. This is not altered by the fact that, like the archheretic Bergoglio, they will continue to unlawfully occupy ecclesiastical offices. According to Gal 1:8, they are under God’s curse – anathema – before God and before the Church of Christ for preaching a false anti-gospel. If the persons concerned refuse to repent, in case they should die they will be eternally damned to hell for their rebellion against God and for their obstinacy. This is an extremely serious matter!
