Reflection on Jn 15:5

I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without Me you can do nothing.

(Review 1Jn 1:9, 5:11f; Jn 16:24; 1Cor 10:13; Prov 3:5-6)

Think about the word of life and answer these questions:

Who is the vine? Who are the branches?

What relationship do you see between a branch and a vine?

How is the relationship between a branch and vine similar to the Christian and Christ?

  1. What must you do in order to abide or dwell in Christ? 1Jn 3:24

  1. What fruit does the Spirit produce in the life of the believer? Gal 5:22-23
  1. What should you do to continue being fruitful? 2Pe 1:5-8
  1. What else does Jesus promise those who follow Him? Mt 4:19
