Reflection on Lk 3:9

The axe is already at the root of the trees,
and every tree that does not produce good fruit
will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

What precedes this Bible verse? John said to the crowds coming out to be baptised by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.’” (Lk 3:7-8) In the following verse (v.10), we read: “What should we do then?” the crowd asked. And John answered each one according to his state. The one who had two tunics should share with him who had none, and the one who had food should do the same. Tax collectors, who were looked down upon but had the will to repent, were also given a clear answer. Soldiers asked him the same and they too received an answer.

Let us abide in Christ and His Word out of love for our neighbours too

The devil often uses sadness to break the relationships in the family or community! Sometimes, without meaning to, we focus our mind on a problem or begin to daydream and we do not realize that our face speaks louder than words (that is why people, when talking together, watch the face in order to sense what the other person means by his or her words). However, our face speaks even when our mouth is silent. Our thought, behind which is a certain spirit, becomes visible on our face – in our eye. That is why we should abide in and be filled with Christ and His Word at least out of love for our neighbours. Example: A negative emotional thought occurs in your mind in relation to your neighbour, which leads to self-pity or aversion. What to do? Immediately the exact opposite. Take the Word of God at once as a sword against the spirit which is behind this thought. Namely: 1. Humble yourself, and repent of judging your brother (though in thoughts only). The Word of God says: “The judgment is God’s!” (Deu 1:17) “Who are you to judge your neighbour?” (Jam 4:12) 2. Make every effort to appreciate a certain positive trait of your neighbour or something good he or she has done. 3. Ask your neighbour for forgiveness in your heart, and humble yourself before him or her.

Word of Life – Heb. 13:5 (9/6/2024 – 23/6/2024)

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,

because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”

Reflection on Heb 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and
be content with what you have, because God has said,
‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’

Before this statement from the Letter to the Hebrews, the Apostle writes: “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow-prisoners, and those who are ill-treated as if you yourselves were suffering. Marriage should be honoured by all, and marriages should be kept undefiled, for God will judge the immoral and adulterers.” Then follows this statement: “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”

The Apostle continues: “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’ Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.” (v. 3-9a)

Word of Life – Phi 1:29 (26/5/2024 – 9/6/2024)

“For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him,

but also to suffer for His sake.”

Reflection on Phi 1:29

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ,
not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.

This verse is preceded by the Apostle’s words: “Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God.” (v.27-28) The Apostle continues: “You are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.” And next: “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfil my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition of conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” (2:1-3)

BCP: Bishops of Slovakia, repent while there is time!

20 May 2024

Dear Bishops of Slovakia,

the controversial church organization called the KBS (Conference of Bishops of Slovakia), with its chairman Abp Bober, manipulated you with its resolutions, until finally, by adopting Fiducia Supplicans, it led you to the most serious crime, namely public rebellion against God! You thus publicly renounced the Gospel of Christ and received the sodomite anti-gospel, for which, according to God’s Word, the most severe punishment fell upon you, namely anathema – curse and exclusion from the Church of Christ. The Gospel of Christ is the necessary condition of eternal salvation, and on the other hand, its rejection is the cause of eternal damnation. The crime you have committed and by which you have brought down God’s curse on yourselves and on the entire Slovak nation is this rainbow synodal journey of yours, which culminated in the deliberately hidden but real transformation of the Catholic Church into a satanic New Age antichurch. The latter is still under the leadership of the so-called Holy Father who publicly dedicated himself to Satan in Canada with the assistance of a sorcerer. The Catholic faithful in Slovakia do not even know about this evil transformation of the Church. The church leaders have betrayed and renounced our Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of God and embraced the spirit of antichrist. But the faithful continue to have the same priests, the same Mass, the same baptisms, the same ceremonies, everything is the same, so nobody knows what has happened.

We need the full armour of God

If our mind is not concentrated in the prayer spiritual struggle, and we are absorbed in our thoughts and absent-minded, demons laugh. If we struggle with distraction and try to abide in the particular truths of the Word of God at least to some extent, the prayer is of some – albeit very minimal – benefit. God does accept our good will. Prayer is of the greatest benefit when we have the full armour of God and we know which Bible verse to use as the sword of the Spirit – the Word of God spoken in the Spirit and at the right time – the word of prophecy – rather than the letter of Scripture or a phrase.

BCP: Holy Spirit versus Fiducia Supplicans

9 May 2024

Sunday, 19 May 2024 is the Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit. On the day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter spoke in the power of the Spirit and urged the pilgrims to be converted and repent. He said: “God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” When they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said: “Brothers, what shall we do?”

In the light of God shall we see light (Psa 36)

Note that some people, especially scientists, who search for certain regularities in the realm of matter, carrying out researches in engineering or medicine, often spend years in a careful search or examination in order to discover a certain law. When they discover something, they derive some enjoyment from it. Similarly, we should discover and come to know certain mysteries hidden in God. The mystery of good and evil, the mystery of the history of humanity and spiritual warfare with demons, the mystery of God’s love, God’s greatness and other mysteries which we will know in the light of God in heaven. Now we see in a mirror (1Cor 13:12), dimly, but then we shall see God and the truth face to face. Discovery and knowledge of things somehow makes man happy, fills the human heart. In heaven we will come to an ever deeper knowledge of the truths.

We are called to preach that Christ died for our sins and rose again…

After the descent of the Holy Spirit, the apostles went and proclaimed two things: that Christ died for our sins and that He rose from the dead… God accompanied their evangelization with mighty signs and wonders. So it should be today. We should witness to these two fundamental truths. This is our agenda. We are to be “martyrés” – witnesses of Jesus Christ. And the Holy Spirit will bring miracles to pass.

Word of Life – Heb. 13:14 (12/5/2024 – 26/5/2024)

“For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.”

Reflection on Heb 13:14

For here we have no continuing city,
but we seek the one to come.

The Apostle Paul reminds the believers of his day, and us, of a profound truth that we often forget. We have no permanent home here on earth. On the other hand, we need to have and make a home here. Unfortunately, the current decadent culture, which is also massively promoted by the supranational political system with its gender ideology, seeks to break up the basic unit of society, which is the family. The family is made up of father, mother and children; they share a home. The mother has always created the atmosphere of the home. Even the grown-up children, who had their own families, would come home in times of hardship, seeking encouragement and comfort from their aged mother while she was alive. In recent years, sadly, elderly parents are being placed in retirement homes or there is even a growing tendency in Western Europe to terminate their lives as soon as possible through euthanasia, or assisted suicide. All this is brought about by this deadly, decadent ideology, which is spreading en masse and affecting Eastern Europe as well.

Where is our home, our fatherland?

“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (Jn 14:2-3)

On the fortieth day after His resurrection, Jesus ascends to heaven where He reserves a place for us. We need to realize that heaven is our home, our fatherland. For example, we can reflect on the following reality: We can see Christ on the Mount of Olives where He appears to the Apostles and to the Blessed Virgin. Jesus says to them: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Mt 28:18-19) After that, He was taken up and angels appeared and said to them: “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)

Let us seek first the kingdom of God

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Mt 6:33)

Seeking is a painful process. If you have lost e.g. your identity papers or money, you seek it anxiously because you need it. And when you have found it, you rejoice. Let us seek first the kingdom of God. We ought to seek it anxiously until we find it…

Let us also seek His righteousness. It consists in the fact that Jesus took on Himself the just punishment for my and your sin and shows His mercy on us. God’s mercy is in Him. Jesus died for me and gives me freely, through faith, the kingdom of God, eternal happiness. I should know it and seek it.

Word of Life – Heb. 10:25 (28/4/2024 – 12/5/2024)

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,

but let us exhort one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
