Reflection on Rom 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
There is a worldwide quarantine these days, people are watching the mass media, and they are in fear and panic; however, this word of God fills our souls with confidence and peace. It shows the infinite love of God for each of us which He already made manifest when He gave us life, breathing His spirit into us and making us in His likeness. But He loved us more, and after we had sinned He gave His only begotten Son for us to redeem us from our sins. What more could God give us?! And in addition to that, with Jesus He gives us all heaven and makes us partakers of eternal happiness.
Surely, He has given us all things in Christ but we have to remember that we must follow Jesus here on earth. When we admit our sins and accept various afflictions or humiliations, it purifies our heart, frees us from our pride, and serves our good. All things God gave us were good, but our first parents sinned, and sin came from the devil. Jesus came to deliver us from it at the cost of great suffering and of shedding His precious blood. He forgives our sins. On our part, however, it is necessary not only to accept forgiveness but to take further steps. We must consciously cooperate with God’s grace, and undergo a process of purification and inner healing, which we receive through His wounds. Let us put our wounds into His wounds, our suffering into His suffering, so as to stand life’s test and obtain eternal life.
Even in these current trials during the quarantine, God’s enemy keeps people in panic, depression and unbelief. But we have Jesus! God has given us with Him all things, including victory in trials. The condition is not to be alone but to be with Him! And if, unfortunately, we break this connection, we should return to Him immediately through true repentance.
