Part 3: Spiritual mobilization for Trump
February 15, 2017
The Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate has called for prayer mobilization. In these days and hours, we are witnesses to not only psychological but above all spiritual warfare! If the President is to promote the true good for the US and the world, he is de facto powerless in this fight although he started well. There are many traps and dangers around him which are prepared not only by evil or deluded people but behind which are the kosmokratores in the heavenly places (Eph 6:12). Therefore, the victory over the forces of lies and death does not depend on him only but on each one of you who join the prayer mobilization.
We present another form of prayer: The mystery of God’s name.
Jesus promised on the evening before His death: “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.” (Joh 16:23)
In another place, Jesus says: “They will cast out demons in My name, and they will speak new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mk 16:17)
The mystery of God’s name
Pronounce slowly in faith the holy name of Jesus in the Hebrew original: “YE-HO-SHU-A”.
In the burning bush, God partially revealed to Moses the mystery of His name. He is Almighty; He always was and is (YHWH). (Exo 3:14) However, the fullness of God’s name was only revealed by God when He fully revealed the name of God in His Son (note: in Russia a son is named after his father, e.g. Vladimir Vladimirovich). The name of God reveals not only the nature of God, YHWH, but also the unity and inner relationship of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and also the relationship of the Triune God to us humans. It reveals the mystery of salvation. Literally, the name YEHOSHUA means: (Triune) God is our salvation. Jesus Himself confesses: “I have manifested Your name which You have given Me…” (Joh 17:6) The name Jesus (Isus) is a Greek translation of the abbreviated form of the name of God Yeshua. The Hebrew name of the Savior is Yehoshua. This is the name of God, a holy name, and the Word of God says about it: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Rom 10:13)
Because this name is holy (see the Second Commandment: “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain”), in order to prevent its profanation let us continue to use in common parlance the abbreviated Greek translation of this name: Jesus. However, in personal and interior prayer you can pronounce this holy name in its full form – Yehoshua – slowly, with respect and in faith.
To concentrate your thoughts, invoke the name of God in a kind of slow rhythm. When you utter the syllable “YE”, realize the presence of God the Father; when you utter the syllable “HO”, realize the presence of God the Son; when you utter the syllable “SHU”, realize the presence of God the Holy Spirit.
The vowel “A” is breathed out three times successively. Breathing out the first “A”, I enter into a relationship with God the Father like into a column of light which penetrates me completely. I realize that He created me and loves me so much that He gave His Son for me. Breathing out the second “A”, I open myself to God the Son who immersed me into His death through baptism. This redemptive power of His now unites me with all the baptized like a horizontal of light. I am thus penetrated by a luminous cross of God’s power in which I give myself wholly to God. Breathing out the third “A”, I open myself to the Holy Spirit. I realize that I am at the epicenter of this luminous cross of the power of God, and at this moment the Holy Spirit makes me a mediator of His almighty power which now comes from my heart and fulfills God’s purpose with America.
The more moments of a living faith there are in the prayer, the more intensely the almighty power of God works!
When the Lord brought the people of Israel out of slavery and led them through the wilderness, He revealed His presence in a column of light between heaven and earth (Exo 13:21-22). Similarly, when Moses was praying for the people with his hands raised up in the tent of meeting, a column of light – a visible sign of the presence of God – was seen at the entrance of the tent (Exo 33:9).
Try to repeat the name of God for five minutes in faith. Remember that God sees you and hears you.
