Is the priest T. Halik a heretic? /Part 5/

Further analysis of the theological and literary activity of T. Halík:

5. Method of an impersonal approach to the faith

Halík writes: “What I found offensive was the film’s (note: The Passion of the Christ by M. Gibson) Christological heresy. Our Lord’s act of salvation is presented as a heroic human deed. Jesus is portrayed in true American style as a champion, excelling in his endurance of pain, one who, in his bout with the devil, is knocked out a thousand times but gets back on his feet again – and at the end worthily mounts the victors podium.” (Night of the Confessor, 2006, p.152)

It is the height of blasphemy to compare the redemptive suffering of Christ to sadomasochism and to call our Saviour a champion, excelling in his endurance of pain.

One example: At the time of World War II, a secret group of civilians is fighting for liberation. The Gestapo are on their trail, arrest one of them and investigate him. They promise to set him free and even to give him a reward providing that he tells them who the leader of the group is. He knows that if he betrays his leader, they will arrest him and torture him to death. He does not want to say his name at any cost. The Gestapo want to force him into betraying by beating and torture. They start to kick him. They kick him in the kidneys, kick his teeth out, punch out his eye, beat him until he is covered in blood, and finally torture him to death. He endures this suffering and offers his life for the love of his friend. When the leader of the group learns about this all, he is filled with love and gratefulness to his friend who saved his life. Till the end of his life whenever he himself or anyone else mentions the name of his dead friend, he will show his respect accompanied by a moved voice and often even by tears in his eyes. He would never say about his friend that he was a champion, excelling in his endurance of pain, knocked out a thousand times by his enemy.

The approach of the Catholic priest T. Halík to the suffering and death of the One who died on the cross out of love for him borders on demonic cynicism.

Another sign of callousness is to present the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus as a drama in one or two acts. This approach is the fruit of Buddhist meditation and “enlightenment” in the spiritual life of a Catholic priest. Such cynicism and loss of rational judgment and conscience will dominate everyone who has received the spirit of Prof. T. Halík.

From an open letter by Halík’s opponent: “Dear Father Halík, I respond to Your letter in which You accuse Mr R.U. of lies and libel… Moreover, Your description of Don Gobbi and his movement as psychopathic does not attest to tolerance which You tend to speak about with eloquence… In Your books and articles, You write about slobbery traditionalist prints, ayatollahs at the Catholic Theological Faculty (CTF), fundamentalists, spiritually immature people… But I have never read in Your writings what the essence of salvation is – that Jesus Christ is the ONLY Saviour… You have spoken with mockery of Catherine Emmerich who, in Your view, was driven by perverse fantasy, as well as of M. Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” which, as You say, is a sadomasochistic kitsch…”

Halík replied to it: “Think about whether You are not a victim of ‘brainwashing’ by prints like Světlo.” (29 January 2008)

A certain Halík’s student writes on ChristNet: “One may be a Christian and at the same time meditate with Buddhists, promote yoga or practise Zen Buddhism. Though essentially they do not pray to God, the principle is the same. Buddha, Jesus, Krishna… it’s all one through whom man obtains salvation… These and other heresies are published without commentary on Halík’s ChristNet, which is the “service” for the Christian intelligentsia in the Czech Republic.

Halík mocks Catherine Emmerich who had stigmata and is the author of the book “The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ”, presenting her as driven by perverse fantasy. This is a gross lie and defamation of character who is regarded as a moral and spiritual authority in the Catholic Church.

Concerning Gibson’s film, no one has so far thought to associate the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ portrayed here with sadomasochism. Halík blasphemes and imposes his perverse views on others. He obviously seeks to put an end to Christian contemplation of the suffering of Christ – the Stations of the Cross or the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. This contemplation disposes Christians to repent sincerely, to think seriously about their own death, God’s judgment and eternity, and it also builds a true relationship with Christ and helps them to follow Him in their private lives. Halík’s gross mockery and blasphemy eliminates this heritage of our devout Christian ancestors from the minds of Christians. Apparently he would like to remove even the signs of the cross from our houses and from our personal lives. Halík promotes gay pride parades with sadomasochists on floats who represent their sexual deviation every year in Prague. Why does he not label this really psychopathic and decadent movement with the terms “sadomasochism” or “perversion”? On the contrary, he supports homosexualism, transsexualism and sadomasochism.

Halík, in addition, intensively promotes the Islamization of the Czech nation. Why does he not warn against sadism associated with Islam? He is silent on the ritual cutting of throats of 21 Christians in Egypt in 2015, which was released as a video. Another video shows a similar execution of martyrs in Ethiopia and Libya in the same year. The video of a ritual execution of Christians in Somalia captures blood splattering accompanied by fanatical recitation of the Koran. Why does Halík not take a radical position against this Islamic religious terrorism? Halík demagogically claims that one must see that which is “wise and beautiful” in the Koran. However, 24% of the Koran relates to jihad, i.e. commandments to cut off heads, fingers, hands or feet. This has been the practice to this day, but Halík conceals it.

Concerning sadomasochism, why has Halík and his ayatollahs not posted on their website the testimony of a converted Buddhist S.M. from Slovakia? S.M., a former Buddhist who meditated in Tibet, testifies about one of the forms of Buddhist meditation which consists in throwing parts of your body, including the internal organs, to demons several thousand times a day in your mind. In Buddhist cemeteries, dead bodies are chopped up and scattered, not buried. Is that not sadomasochism? What do Halík’s Catholic-Buddhist disciples meditate on in pursuit of enlightenment in the crypt of the Church of the Most Holy Saviour? Apparently they have not yet moved on to this higher stage, because it would be a big shock for the time being. The crypt and the Church do not serve God and the nation but they are a hotbed of heresy and hatred towards genuine Christians and honest patriots.

Halík has been the chief companion of the Tibetan Dalai Lama in the Czech Republic several times. The Dalai Lama is revered as the 14th reincarnation of a Tibetan deity, i.e. a reincarnated god. Halík questions and denies the true Divinity of Christ but respectfully tolerates the pseudo deity of the Dalai Lama besides the deity of his own self. Why does Halík not say that the proclamation of Christianity has been punished with death in Tibet until recently? The assertion that Christ, Buddha or Krishna are one is a gross lie and heresy denying the foundations of Christianity.

Halík’s theology is not only heretical but also slobbery and sadomasochistic. The Movement of Don Gobbi is not psychopathic, but the Gnostic movement of Halík is. We do not mean to judge whom the statement about ayatollahs concerns – whether the CTF or Halík’s Gnostic sect. Catherine Emmerich was not driven by perverse fantasy, but Guru Halík evidently is during his Gnostic heretical meditations. Gibson’s film about the passion of Christ is not a sadomasochistic kitsch, but floats at gay pride events, which are so vehemently promoted by Halík, are. Newspapers like Světlo do not brainwash the people, but Halík’s slobbery and snotty prints do.

To offend our Lord Jesus Christ by saying that he is “a champion, excelling in his endurance of pain” is a gross blasphemy. Even Marxist ideologues in the Communist era did not dare to offend Jesus Christ and orthodox Christianity in such manner as it has been done by Halík over 26 years. And what is worse, Halík acts as an authority in the Church. When the Communist regime derided Christianity, nobody took it seriously. By contrast, Halík, an admirer of Nietzsche, a crypto-fascist proper, meditates in his Dalai-Lama-soaked crypt and wants not only to be taken seriously but also to be worshipped as a guru made in EU.

Therefore, every sincere Catholic or Christian, and even a sincere nonbeliever, must know that Halík is no sound theologian but an arch-heretic.
