Touch Jesus in Holy Communion
The Lord Jesus is really present in the Divine Liturgy. When we receive His Body and Blood in Holy Communion, we need to realize: “Jesus, You are in me now.” Jesus asks every one of us: “What do you want Me to do for you?” If you have a concrete problem, tell Him: “Lord, this is my problem – I am ill. You are my Physician, You are almighty!” And Jesus says to you the same as He said to the women in the Gospel who came to Him with a fervent plea or to the parents who asked Him to heal their child: “Let it be done for you as you have believed!” Or He says to you as He said to the leper: “I am willing; be cleansed!” Jesus is the same, and He is present in the Eucharist. He comes in a special way. When you receive His Body and Blood, He comes to you and becomes your guest. Think of Zacchaeus who wished to see Jesus, and Jesus said to him: “I must stay at your house today!” and entered his house. Jesus comes into your soul in the same way today. Say to Him: “Jesus, You are the Lord of the universe!” Jesus asks you: “What do you want Me to do for you?” So tell Him concretely what you want. Believe in Him, He is almighty, but He wants you to believe in Him. How many miracles Jesus has worked, how many books could be written! But there is always one condition – your faith. We have to open our hearts to the Lord with a living faith and touch Him like the woman in the Gospel who suffered from a haemorrhage and spent all her livelihood on physicians. She thought to herself: “If I can just touch the border of His garment, I will be healed.” And Jesus asked: “Who touched Me? … power has gone out from Me.” And this is true today as well. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, but it is necessary that we should have a living faith and touch Him with the same faith as this woman. And when He Himself comes into your soul in Holy Communion, you can touch Him all the more: “Jesus, You know me; please, do this and this in my life.” And power will go out from Him and penetrate your whole body and soul – the power of God which created the whole universe and which heals because He is God, God from God, Light from Light. He is really present in the Blessed Sacrament. He loves you. He is with you always, and He wants you too to be with Him. And if at no other time, then at least after Holy Communion, and all the more intensively: “Jesus, You are in me now. Now I put everything into Your hands, my past and my future. I trust in You. You are my God, You are my Lord!”
