Lvov (Ukraine), 21 April 2011
President of Hungary
Members of the Government
Members of the Hungarian Parliament
Dear Mr President,
Members of the Hungarian government and Parliamentarians,
on the occasion of the feast of Christ’s Resurrection we pray that God would grant You the power of the Spirit and unyielding perseverance and courage in the fight for preservation of Christian values. At the same time, we thank You for Your bravery which You have shown in these days when You have integrated the Christian values into the Hungarian Constitution, namely marriage as a union of one man and one woman and the reality that human life begins at conception. We believe that the moral uplift of the Hungarian nation will become a strong impetus for the moral advancement of all nations of Europe.
On this occasion we would like to announce that on 5 April 2011 the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church proclaimed the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate, the first Patriarch elected being Archbishop Elijah A. Dohnal (65). The Patriarchate was established in response to the critical situation in the Catholic Church, in particular: violation of the saving faith and acceptance of a new teaching and different spirit which contradicts the fundamental truths of the Gospel and the Apostolic Tradition.
We believe that true restoration of the Church will become the spiritual fountain of restoration of nations.
Blessing You from the heart,
+ Elijah
Patriarch
