The Synod of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church

by the grace of the Holy Trinity and
under the patronage of the Most Holy Mother of God
considered the critical situation in the Catholic Church, namely:
violation of the saving faith in the Catholic Church
and acceptance of a new teaching and a different spirit
which is contrary to the fundamental truths of the Gospel
and the Apostolic Tradition.

On 5 April 2011 the Synod resolved to establish
the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate.
The mission and purpose – to unite all believers who desire
to preserve the sacred deposit of the Catholic faith,
regardless of nationality or belonging
to any of the Catholic Churches or traditions.
