Let us not dialogue but rather bear witness! Let us repeat the truth – this is this. I can start a discussion but if I see that the person I talk to rejects the truth, I must tell him clearly: “This is the truth and it concerns you personally. You either believe or not. The reality is that you will die and whether you like it or not, you will stand before the judgment seat of God and then you will go to heaven or hell. I want to tell you one thing: if you want to be saved, you must give your sins to Jesus; you must confess them and kneel before Him, receive Him as your Saviour, receive His Gospel and His way. He who endures to the end will be saved. And no one will be saved without faith! Not without philosophy but without faith!”

However, people just philosophize, omitting what is essential, and the devil laughs because he is a far cleverer philosophizer! Faith is necessary for obtaining salvation. By faith we receive clear divine truths.

If you start to discuss with your adversary, he will divert you from the essential things, fool you and then laugh at you. It’s no good discussing with him. You just need to keep repeating the essential truths: “This is this. Unless you are converted, you will go to hell. Jesus is the only Saviour!” He will argue: “But, but, but… the Church is full of sinners, look at them who call themselves believers, how they behave…!” There is just one answer to this: “Even if Christianity was rotten through and through and Christians were most wicked people, if they repent, they will be saved. On the other hand, even if you were like an angel, you will go to hell unless you receive Jesus. Your pride is demonic. It is true that people are slaves of sin and egoism, but if they are humble, confess it and go to Jesus, His blood cleanses them from every sin, and this is the only way that leads to salvation. This is the essence of Christianity!”

All doctors of theology will make fine speeches, dazzle you with their knowledge and humiliate you as if you were ignoramuses. But the truth is that they are ignoramuses – owing to their pride. True theology is born on your knees – when your heart aches and you perceive that Christianity is no philosophy but a fight for the salvation of souls enslaved by sin and unwilling to know the truth, you will taste at least to some extent the suffering of Jesus crucified. If you want to convert others to the faith, you must pray and bear witness. If you discuss with them, the demon that enslaves them will defeat you. In this fight for the salvation of souls we must learn to wear the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth and the sword of the Spirit!
