True happiness on this earth does not lie in abundance of property, wealth or career but in true peace. We can find this peace only in Christ. Supposing we seek it somewhere else or in someone else, we will not find it. We can by no means find this peace in the world. In the world we will only have tribulation. We must know it. There is no peace in the glory of the world, in vanity or in sin. If someone lives without Christ, he may look peaceful and be always smiling but such peace is just a piece of play-acting, deceit! One serious thought of death and God’s judgment, and everything comes apart at the seams.
In the next two weeks let us remember that Jesus “has overcome the world”. The world in this context does not mean the beauty of nature. It means false thinking behind which is the ruler of this world. The world is a system of false philosophies, psychologies and vanities. The system of the world boycotts not only the existence of God as Creator but it boycotts sound moral principles as well. The spirit of the world leads man by the nose and instead of the true Gospel it presents to him false life principles and a false religion – starting with paganism and ending with Satanism. Jesus encourages us: “Take heart! I have overcome the world.” Indeed, Jesus has overcome the ruler of this world – the spirit of lies. “Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” (cf. Jn 14:6) The devil is a false way and along with the system of the world he leads to both temporal and eternal death! Take heart and do not fear to call things by their proper names! Put up resistance to the masses which follow the dictates of the world. Mainly the mass media zombify millions. They conceal from them the fundamental truths about the meaning of life, the meaning of suffering and the question of eternity. To accept the truth involves a fight! To persevere in the truth is the greatest heroism. The world and its people persecute true Christians and even erroneously think they offer God service (see beginning of chapter 16). Jesus emphasized it!
Remember, true peace is in Christ alone. Be aware that Jesus has overcome the world!
