Nevertheless it is the second interpretation, the ‘parallel’ one, that is actually reading with the eyes of faith. Faith here means two things, however: on the one hand, the realization that the story is paradoxical (that the other aspect of the story, ‘the resurrection’, is a reinterpretation of the first, not its subsequent happy outcome)…” (Night of the Confessor, 2006)

This is illogical nonsense cloaked in obscure language, and Halík makes great mysticism of it. Those who do not believe in this mysticism are, in his opinion, totally primitive because: “…it is the second interpretation, the ‘parallel’ one, that is actually reading with the eyes of faith.” It means that if, reading the Gospel, you fail to fabricate total nonsense out of it which does not correspond with the reality, e.g. that death and resurrection is one and the same thing, and if you then fail to read this nonsense with the eyes of faith, you lack faith. On the other hand, if you do not even know what it is all about but you pretend to fully agree with Halík and to believe that the resurrection is only a reinterpretation of death, you are a believing Christian in the eyes of Halík. Tomáš Halík has tried to raise such generation of modern Christians for 26 years. He received a blessing therefor from Cardinal Vlk.

Halík says that “faith here means two things”. We really wonder what two things?! The first thing, the supposed meaning of faith, is the realization that the story “is paradoxical”. He actually says that we first need to realize that the nonsense which he fabricates and which he wants us to believe in is so paradoxical that it is really hard to understand and we can only believe in it by a special faith à la Halík. Perhaps only a higher spiritual intelligence group, which has its permanent residence in psychiatric hospitals, is able to penetrate into this “higher” mysticism, and all other people just have to believe in these absurdities. This is future “Christianity” which Halík tries to lead us to. Save yourself if you can!

Halík further explains his paradox by saying that “the other aspect of the story, ‘the resurrection’, is a reinterpretation of the first, not its subsequent happy outcome”. But he does not say what he means by “reinterpretation”. Deliberate vagueness is one of his effective demagogical theological methods. Halík does not allow even for one percent possibility of the real historical Resurrection. In his view, the Resurrection is only a reinterpretation of death. To avoid receiving the clear message of the Gospel as it is, he prefers to fabricate this total nonsense. He makes death and resurrection one and the same thing and demands faith in this absurd paradox. It is his “higher” mysticism founded probably on the philosophy of the ideologue of fascism Nietzsche and on Buddhist koan because, as he often repeats, “all is one”. What does the term “reinterpretation” mean? “Logically, it would mean that the tragedy of Christ’s death can be ‘retold’ only in the following way: Jesus tortured to death lives on in His teaching, and the apostles recognize their mission to preach it to the whole world. In this sense, according to Halík, Christ did not die, He is ‘alive forever’, similarly to Lenin about whom the Bolsheviks declared the same after his death: they said that he lived on in his writings and in the heritage of thought which he left – and in order to emphasize this, they embalmed his body and placed it in a mausoleum, in which one can see an analogy to Jesus’ disciples who in order to convince themselves as well as the world that Jesus had not died but was alive fabricated a legend of an empty tomb and apparitions. Otherwise one really cannot explain Halík’s ‘reinterpretation of the story of crucifixion’. Unless Prof. Halík himself offers a commentary.” (Dr. T. Malý, Te Deum, 5/06)

We wonder about the other thing too: What does faith mean in Halík’s view? “…the determination to link that story to the story of one’s own life. That means ‘to enter into the story’ and in the light of it to understand and live one’s life afresh, to be capable of bearing its paradoxical character and not to fear the paradoxes that life presents.” In other words: faith thus means to determine to link one’s own life to the nonsense fabricated by Halík – in this case to the belief that the resurrection is a reinterpretation of death. Naturally, this and similar deductions, as Halík prepares us in advance, will then give rise to a series of paradoxes in our life with an unhappy outcome. Therefore, he needs to encourage us, as he says, “not to fear them so as to be capable of bearing them”. We are grateful to Halík for such an encouragement to live by faith. His adherents probably need much encouragement, for not everyone would be capable of bearing such paradoxical character of a so-called “new life” by faith founded on such nonsense. However, apparently Halík’s transoriented ideological followers and Gnostic mystics do practise this faith in their lives. Others prefer just to philosophize about it with enthusiasm. We would recommend, for safety reasons, that the latter should only give their lectures in psychiatric intensive care units where there are bars on the windows and specialists with straitjackets, cold showers and electric shocks ready to ensure neutralization of Halík’s faith in practice. This would require utmost vigilance of the medical and other staff as these paradoxes can easily cause dangerous visualization and subsequent rotation which is hard to reinterpret without cold showers or electric shocks.

Seriously, we ask what this Halík’s faith has to do with the saving biblical faith. Absolutely nothing! The biblical faith is expressed in our Christian Creed and in the personal acceptance of Jesus as our Saviour and Lord who died for our sins at Calvary, overcame the spirit of lies and death, and by His Resurrection confirmed His Divinity as well as the veracity and universality of the Gospel connected with eternal life and our future resurrection. This biblical faith unites us to the living Jesus and leads to sound judgment. It gives us the strength to carry our crosses and is diametrically different from Halík’s pseudo faith founded on absurd paradoxes.

Halík is a professional heretic who wraps the truths of faith in vague pseudomystical expressions and kills the essence of the plain truth. His heretical books are translated into different languages and spread the spirit of the NWO – the spirit of the New Age. Being a representative of pseudo Christianity in the Czech Republic, Halík promotes Buddhism, homosexualism, transsexualism and now even Islamization to undermine the Christian roots and to bring the Czech nation to self-destruction. Sts Cyril and Methodius would weep over this pseudo apostle. St Procopius would take a staff and radically cast 1000 demons out of Halík and his hermitage. This would put a definitive end to Halík’s inspirations about all being one.

+ Methodius OSBMr + Timothy OSBMr

Secretary Bishops of the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate

https://vkpatriarhat.org/de/?page_id=9564

25 January 2016

Download: Is the priest T.
