It was a mere glance\u2026 But now Jesus asks Peter: <em>\u201cSimon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?\u201d<\/em> My prayer should not be just a reflection on Peter\u2019s encounter with Jesus. During prayer, I should realize the presence of Jesus \u2013 Jesus is here now; He sees me and knows me. Jesus is here, the same Jesus as by the Lake  of Gennesaret. With an aching heart, I confess together with Peter: \u201cI betrayed You, I denied You.\u201d Looking back on my life from early childhood, how many times I have denied Jesus! I have denied Him by every single sin, be it a weakness when sin was stronger, or fear, or pride, when I was afraid to confess Jesus. <!--more-->How many times I have denied Him, and Jesus knows about it all. But now He asks me too: <em>\u201cDo you love Me?\u201d<\/em> Aware of my sin, I say to Him with a contrite heart: <em>\u201cYes, Lord, I may deny You a thousand times but You know that I love You.\u201d<\/em> I look into His eyes as if in the last 5 minutes of my life. As if I were to die now: \u201cYou are here now. Jesus, now I confess my love for You. Lord, You know everything; You know that I love You.\u201d And Jesus says to me: <em>\u201cFollow Me!
